Pay your bank a visit

The UK banks are using our money to fund climate change.

We’re not happy about it so we’ve written them a letter and we want you to help us deliver it.

1. SIGN THE LETTER

Get together with some friends, your CU or a society you’re part of, sign this letter and put together some messages to your bank telling them how you want them to use your money.

2. MAKE A BANNER

Make yourself a banner with a message to the bank (we're thinking giant emoji piggy bank saying 'stop using our money to fund climate change'!) take a selfie outside the bank and get it up on social media #bigshift or if you’re really keen, get something in your local student news.

3. GO TO THE BANK

Organise a time for a group of you to pay a visit to your local bank. It’s up to you whether you visit one bank or more. If you’ve only got 10 minutes, just pop into your bank on campus or near your uni. If you’ve got more time, arrange a tour of the banks around town!

4. HAND YOUR LETTER IN

Hand the letter in to a member of staff in the bank - ideally the bank manager - and ask them to pass it onto the CEO.

5. LET US KNOW!

It really helps us to know how many people are taking part. It means we can go to the bank HQ’s and tell them just how big this campaign is. We can also keep you updated with the progress! Just let us know HERE.
